Choosing to See: Racial Healing is Possible, by Hanna du Plessis
Hanna was invited to participate in the annual Woordfees arts festival in South Africa. She wrote seven short personal essays describing moments in her journey toward racial healing. Read by Erica Wessels (who voiced the audiobook of "Bedsores and Bliss) and illustrated by Marc Rettig, the result is a 35-minute film of deep beauty and reflection. Another Light: Making Space for Healing
With production support from Okay Then, artist Jeffrey Dorsey created a month of community events set amidst his twelve painted portraits. It was a joy to design and develop audio stories, a web site, signs, books and more to help bring this profound work to life in the community.
